Very few people in this region are aware of the importance of eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. For the majority, the diet consists of barley, yak meat and dairy products with virtually no fruit or vegetables. Although walking is a necessity for most, the concept of regular exercise to promote good health does not exist. We have developed a basic guide to healthy living and by distributing this we hope to reduce the incidence of high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and heart disease.
