Annual Project Costs: £360 per student
Project Duration: 6 years to ongoing

We are now introducing longer-term projects so the clinic can become self-sufficient. We are sponsoring 2 Rokpa orphanage students to degree level in Optometry. Upon qualification, each student will commit to work in our hospital for 3 years after which they can return to their own villages and set up clinics. In addition they will train the next generation of orphan students to enable true self-sufficiency. Western volunteers will supplement their knowledge and skills base with periodic visits.

The students were selected in August 2007. They will graduate from Hainan college in 2010 and qualify in 2013.
