We have chosen to sponsor a local clinician to meet the year-round need for midwife. In the future this clinician will be replaced by Rokpa students who we are sponsoring to degree level. The Rokpa orphanage students will be given the opportunity to gain knowledge and work experience from this clinician.

We have selected an experienced Midwife/Nurse to work in the hospital 6 days per week throughout the year. Her role will be to give advice on women's health and sex education/contraception to the Rokpa orphanage students and local people as well as assisting in pre-natal care, delivery and post-natal care. With her help infant mortality in this region should be reduced from its current level of 10%+.
